Tixserve gives new power and control to ticket sellers
Tixserve gives new power and control to ticket sellers
Tixserve is on a mission to work with its ticket selling clients to replace outdated paper tickets and remove the problems that are associated with them:
- High back-office and distribution costs for sellers
- Consumer inconvenience
- Large-scale unauthorised re-sale of tickets
The security of the patent-pending Tixserve platform prevents large-scale harvesting of tickets by bots. This gives better access to tickets at face value prices for genuine fans and patrons. Fraudulent duplication of tickets is also prevented.
A key point of difference with existing paperless ticketing solutions is that the end-to-end security of the Tixserve system does not require slow and costly blanket checks of ticket holders' photo IDs or credit cards at venues.
Tixserve tickets have been designed so they cannot be damaged, lost or copied. If the battery runs out or there is no network signal, or even if a phone is lost, Tixserve has developed robust solutions to deal with these practical problems. This gives everyone a stress-free mobile digital ticket experience.
Tixserve technology allows the rights owner(s) of an event to permit ticket re-sale or not. Any re-sale would be controlled and regulated in a transparent and ethical manner by the right owner(s) via the configurable Tixserve platform. Unlike existing paper tickets, the secure Tixserve digital tickets cannot be re-sold or transferred without the permission of the rights owner(s).
Because Tixserve tickets are digital, we deliver them quickly and securely directly to customers’ mobile phones, meaning there are no printing, posting or associated back office costs.
It takes only a few seconds to deliver purchased tickets to the ticket wallet App. There is no need to wait on any postal or courier service . No need for print at home tickets or even carry paper tickets to an event. Simple, quick and convenient.
The Tixserve wallet App is a white label product that can be quickly and easily integrated with existing ticket sellers’ systems. This enables event organisers to capture commercially valuable data from customers which can be used to generate new revenues from the sale of merchandise and other ancillary services.
The Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) based at Queen’s University Belfast has announced Tixserve as the newest addition to its associate membership programme.
Research from the London Office for Rapid Cybersecurity Advancement has revealed that 50 per cent of organisations with over 500 employees have suffered a cyber-attack in the past 12 months. At a time when cyber-attacks continue to rise, CSIT and Tixserve will work together to combat cyber-crime within the ticketing industry.
CSIT encourages collaboration among academics, researchers, engineers, industry and government to accelerate the results of cyber and physical security research through to commercial application.
Judith Millar, Business Development Manager, CSIT commented: “CSIT is pleased to announce this new partnership with Tixserve through our associate membership programme. Tixserve is a highly innovative start-up company, introducing secure, paperless tickets that have the potential to revolutionise the entertainment industry, and the secondary ticket sales market.”
Security within the entertainment and sporting sectors is currently in the spotlight following recent announcements of cyber breaches. US ticket distribution website Ticketfly, a subsidiary of Eventbrite, suffered a major data breach that exposed the email addresses and other personal data of more than twenty-six million people. Ticketmaster's UK site suffered a data breach impacting five per cent of customers, up to 40,000 people with some reporting financial losses.
Managing Director of Tixserve Patrick Kirby said: "When we founded Tixserve, we set out to help the ticketing industry to reduce dependence on paper and to meet the expectations of the mobile generation. We wanted to create a digital ticket that enhances the user experience for fans, delivers commercial benefits for ticket-sellers, and offers cast iron security. Partnering with CSIT gives Tixserve a competitive advantage with access to CSIT's cutting-edge knowledge, research and resources, enabling us to future-proof our platform and consistently offer our clients the latest appropriate technologies in this rapidly evolving sector."
Tickets.ie specializes in stadium tickets, but also sells in theatre, music and arts. It processes 2.7 million tickets annually by its own admission. The deal with Tixserve allows tickets.ie customers to access their digital tickets within a dedicated app.
The partnership means tickets.ie customers “will benefit from highly secure, convenient and content-rich digital tickets, which can be tailor-made to bring real added value to each individual event, enabling new revenue opportunities for organizers,” said Kirby.

With a rocking line up of bands including The Lottery Winners, Tiggi Hawke, Moses and Wide Eye Boy, it was guaranteed to be a great night of live music. A big thanks to the very hard working Autonomy music team and to the super bands and of course to the fans, who all contributed to a fantastic party night.

This is according to the latest research from Mobiles.co.uk, a Dixons Carphone PLC company, reported by Mobile News. Based on a sample of 1,000 surveyed on May 30th 2016, the survey found that more UK residents are using their smartphones as a form of digital ticketing. This included boarding passes (23 per cent), rail tickets (20 per cent), bus and coach tickets (19 per cent) and event tickets (18 per cent).
The research also recorded responses on why users were reluctant to switch to smartphone ticketing. Running out of battery (57 per cent), losing the phone (55 per cent), security (55 per cent), losing WiFi signal (54 per cent) and the ticket not being accepted (48 per cent) were the main reasons.
The good news is that the patent-pending Tixserve electronic ticketing system addresses each of those concerns, and other 'what if' scenarios, so that fans and patrons can now be 100% confident of getting in to see their favourite music artist, sports team or theatre performance with the convenience of smartphone digital ticketing.
