June's live events recap as the industry returns in full swing

With live music and sports events back in full swing, let’s recap on what was a jam-packed month of exciting and iconic events across the UK this June.

From Ed Sheeran to Stereophonics, and more, over 200,000 digital tickets were powered by Tixserve through several white label digital ticketing apps across various venues and stadiums this month. Multiple ticket agents were used to sell the tickets and were then delivered into the dedicated Tixserve-powered digital ticket apps to fans.

What events took place?

As It Is

Kicking off the month of events, British-American rock band, As It Is, celebrated the release of their fourth album ‘I Went To Hell and Back’ at seven hmv locations across the UK with fans using the ‘HMV Tickets’ app, powered by Tixserve.

Bloc Party

English rock band, Bloc Party, followed by performing album release shows of their latest album ‘Alpha Games’ at Birmingham, Bristol and Norwich. Fans enjoyed their long-awaited performances after their return from hiatus in 2016 and following various lockdowns since unveiling they were working on a new album back in 2020.

Ed Sheeran

Bigger and better than ever, Ed Sheeran continued his 2022 ‘Mathematics’ Stadium Tour across the UK this month. Digital tickets were powered by Tixserve for this month’s 13 stadium gigs across Sunderland’s Stadium of Light (2 nights), Manchester’s Etihad Stadium (4 nights), Glasgow’s Hampden Park (2 nights), and London’s Wembley Stadium (5 nights).

George Ezra

To celebrate the release of the highly anticipated album ‘Gold Rush Kid’, English singer and songwriter, George Ezra, played an intimate album launch show at The LCR, UAE Norwich on 13th June. The singer who rose to fame back in 2014 is best known for his iconic tracks ‘Shotgun’, ‘Blame it On Me’ and ‘Anyone For You’ - after two blockbuster albums, touring the world, and winning the 2019 Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist.

Stereophonics

Stereophonics took to the stage at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium for two huge sell-out gigs on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June - with very special guests Tom Jones, Feeder, Gruff Rhys and Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard. The two shows rocked the stadium with fans using the Tixserve-powered Principality Stadium Ticketing app across both nights. Principality Stadium and music promoter, Kilimanjaro Live - who are committed to combating unethical secondary ticketing practices and creating safer stadium experiences - operated digital tickets for hindering fraud and capturing verified attendee data. The Tixserve-powered PSE app was also used for all hospitality and premium guests on both nights.

England V Barbarians

On Sunday 19th June, fans attended the high-scoring England V Barbarians fixture at Twickenham Stadium. England Rugby ramped up their preparations for this Summer’s three-Test tour of Australia.
